I believe that each of us is living out a story—and at times, it’s not the one we would have chosen.
You may be experiencing trauma, grief and loss, or navigating a life transition that hasn’t unfolded the way you hoped. Perhaps you’re living with the impact of childhood trauma, sexual abuse, or religious or spiritual wounds. You might find yourself returning to the same memories again and again, feeling stuck, anxious, or overwhelmed.
When we encounter this kind of suffering, healing often begins when our stories are met with curiosity, compassion, and care—in the presence of another. Trauma therapy can offer a supportive space to process your experiences, reconnect with yourself, and begin to move forward.
My approach is collaborative, relational, and deeply rooted in trauma-informed therapy and interpersonal neurobiology. I draw from relational psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, family systems therapy, parts work, and object relations, allowing our work together to be shaped by your unique experiences, needs, and goals.
In our sessions, I will honor your strengths, your individuality, and the full context of your life. I won’t ask you to fit into a rigid formula for healing. Instead, we will move at a pace that feels supportive and attuned to you. I see you not as a problem to be solved, but as a whole person to be deeply cared for.
I also hold awareness of the ways larger systems impact our mental health and the very real harm they can cause. My intention is to support healing in the mind-body connection, tending to wounds held in the body, mind, and spirit, while also making space to notice and celebrate your resilience and growth.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an early childhood educator. I’ve also had the privilege of working with Afghan refugees in Athens, Greece, along with volunteer experience in hospital and nonprofit settings.
I am especially drawn to working with individuals seeking:
- Trauma therapy for childhood trauma or sexual abuse
- Support with anxiety, overwhelm, or intrusive memories
- Help navigating life transitions (career changes, identity shifts, motherhood)
- Exploration of religious trauma, faith deconstruction, or spiritual concerns
- Pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood support
- Healing in relationships and family systems
Wherever you find yourself in your story, I would be honored to walk alongside you as it continues to unfold.
When I am not in the counseling office I enjoy painting, drawing, knitting, hiking, road trips, keeping my sourdough alive another day, spending time with my husband and daughter, gardening, watching cycling, celebrating the ordinary, black coffee, and hunting down hidden gem and hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Madison (and yes I'd love to hear your favorites).
